Privacy policy

This policy covers the Cue Studio app for iPhone and iPad (the "app") and this website, getcuestudio.com (the "site"). Both are made by Sorensen on Sound LLC ("we", "us"), based in Milford, Connecticut, USA.

The app

Microphone

Cue Studio asks for microphone access so it can record. Audio from your microphone or audio interface is processed on your device and written to files on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can turn microphone access off at any time in the Settings app, under Cue Studio.

Your recordings and settings

Recordings, names, markers, mix settings, presets, and preferences are stored only on your device, inside the app's own storage. Recordings are visible to you in the Files app under On My iPhone or On My iPad, then Cue Studio. We have no access to any of it.

If you use iCloud Backup or back up your device to a computer, that backup can include Cue Studio's files. Backups are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, not by us.

Sharing and exporting

When you share a take or a bounce, the app hands the file to the iOS share sheet and you choose where it goes, such as AirDrop, Mail, Messages, or Files. The app only shares what you choose to share, and only when you choose to share it.

No accounts, analytics, ads, or tracking

The app has no sign-in, contains no advertising, and includes no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. It does not make network requests to us or to anyone else. It does not use your location, contacts, photos, or any identifier to follow you across apps or websites.

Crash reports from Apple

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and basic usage statistics through App Store Connect. These do not identify you, and we use them only to fix problems. You can change this in Settings, Privacy and Security, Analytics and Improvements.

The website

getcuestudio.com does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, and it has no forms that collect personal information.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. That processing is covered by Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The interactive demos on the home page run entirely in your browser. If you choose to try the meter with your microphone, your browser asks for permission first, the audio is measured locally to move the meter, and nothing is recorded, stored, or sent anywhere. The audio stops when you leave or reload the page.

When you email us

If you contact us at [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply and help you, we don't add you to any mailing list, and we don't share it with anyone. You can ask us to delete our correspondence with you at any time.

Children

Cue Studio is a general audience app. It is not directed at children under 13, and because it collects no personal information, it collects none from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal information a company holds about you. Since we don't collect personal information through the app or the site, there is normally nothing for us to access or delete. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, just ask.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app or the site handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top before the change takes effect. If a change ever means the app would collect data, we'll say so clearly in the app before it happens.
